As a factory grows, the first real bottleneck usually isn’t cutting or polishing capacity itself — it’s the gap between workstations: a slab waiting between the cutting machine and the polishing station, manual transfers that put large, heavy slabs at risk of breakage, and dependence on one skilled worker who knows every step. How an Automatic Slab Production Line Is Built

A typical line includes an automatic loading and handling station, a cutting station (CNC bridge saw or waterjet, depending on the material), a calibration station for uniform thickness, a polishing/grinding station for the required finish, and often an edge-processing and packing/stacking station at the end. A central computerized control system moves each slab between stations according to a pre-set work program, so every slab goes through exactly the same steps at the same level of precision — without relying on manual handling that can cause breakage or edge damage.

When a Full Line Makes Sense, and How to Choose the Right Configuration

Not every factory needs a full line on day one. The decision mostly depends on monthly production volume, the materials you work with (marble, granite, porcelain — each with different processing requirements), and the available floor space. In most cases, the right approach is modular: start with the core machines (cutting + polishing), and add stations (calibration, edge processing, automatic packing) as demand grows — as long as the equipment you choose first is compatible and expandable, rather than locking the factory into a closed configuration.
